The Plant City High School Rifle Team is a premier competitive marksmanship program dedicated to excellence, safety, and discipline. As part of the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, our team provides cadets the opportunity to master the art of precision air rifle shooting, competing at local, regional, and national levels.

We focus on the Three-Position Air Rifle standards, developing skill, mental focus, and composure under pressure. Whether a cadet is a beginner or an experienced shooter, our program fosters leadership, teamwork, and a strict adherence to safety protocols.

Plant City High School Rifle Team

Training Schedule and Requirements

Cadets practice Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, focusing on the Three-Position Air Rifle standards. This rigorous schedule builds both physical and mental discipline, helping students develop focus, composure, and leadership under pressure.
To participate, cadets must obtain an Athletic Clearance from the school, ensuring they meet the physical and safety requirements for rifle training 

Program Focus

The Rifle Team emphasizes:

  • Precision and accuracy in shooting

  • Safety protocols and marksmanship fundamentals

  • Leadership and teamwork through structured drills and competitions

  • Competition readiness for regional and national events

Community Support

The program has received strong community backing, including a recent $7,500 equipment donation from AMVETS Post 44. Funded through the annual Ed “EB” Branciforte Memorial Golf Tournament, the donation provides updated rifles and training resources, enhancing both practice and competition opportunities Plant City Observer.
