The S-3 is responsible for plans, training, and operations. Specific duties include:

• Assumes command of the Battalion when BC and XO aren’t there. 

• Develop and post letters of instruction for special training or ceremonial events with XO (Veterans Day ceremonies, Commissioning ceremony, etc.). 

• Conduct daily training inspections and report findings to the battalion Commander and the SAI.  

• Make Certificates for Cadet Challenge to go with their medal for the SAI or AI to sign. 

• Prepare event location at school or outside of school for the Battalion for ceremonies and other events. 

• Input all extracurriculars in JUMS: events, competitions, dates, and the cadets that participated. 

• Prepare Field trip request form for all trips outside school for example: Drill, Raider and Rifle Meet events, field trips and any other event conducted outside school tha need forms.
