RAIDER TEAM
“Move Farther, Faster, and Work Harder.”
The Plant City High School JROTC Raider Team is a physical fitness team. The team can compete as an All-Male team, All-Female team, and a Male/Female Mix Team. Competitions typically consist of a team 5K run, team 1 Mile ruck (35lbs)/litter (80lbs) run, team obstacle course, team 50-yard Tire Flip, Team One Rope Bridge. The team competes against other schools in Regional, District, and State competitions from September through November.
Team members must be Athletically Cleared to participate in practices and competitions.
Tryouts
Cadets must meet the requirements below by 31 August to make the Raider Team.
Males
5K Run: 25 Minutes
½ Mile Ruck with 35lbs pack: 6 Minutes
HEX Bar Dead Lift: 180lbs
Females
5K Run: 28 Minutes
½ Mile Ruck with 35lbs pack: 7 Minutes
HEX Bar Dead Lift: 140lbs

Team Fees
There is a $20 Fee for being a member of the JROTC Raider Team. These funds are utilized to purchase personalized team shirts for each team member.
Fundraising
Raider Team members are expected to participate in fundraising activities. The funds raised are required to pay for competition entrance fees (approximately $150 per team per competition)
Competitive Raider Meets
A typical Competition Schedule consists of approximately 7 competitions from September - November. Typical snack type food is provided to the cadets on competition days (Sandwiches, chips, Nutra gran bars, water, etc.). Normally concession stands are also available for the cadets to purchase additional food if desired.

Competition Day Schedule

Arrive at Plant City High School: Between 4:30 – 5:00 a.m.

Depart Plant City High School: Between 5:00 – 6:00 a.m. (Transportation is provided from Plant City High School to and from the competition locations.)

Arrive at Competition Location: 7:00 a.m.

Competition Start Time: 8:00 a.m. (Spectators encouraged to attend at no cost for parking or entrance)

Depart Competition Location: Approximately 1:00 p.m. (The team may stop on the way back to the school after the competition at a fast-food style location for a team meal (Cadet will need own funds))

Arrive back at Plant City High School: Between 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
